Three outlaws arrested with gun, bullets

Three operatives of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP-Lal Pataka) were arrested with a pipe gun and nine bullets in Dhulauri area of Santhia upazila yesterday morning.

The arrestees are Jan-e-Alam alias Bomaru Mizan, 35, a regional leader of the party, and Shamsul Alam, 38, and Rafikul Islam, 40.

Md Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station, said law enforcers, acting on a tip-off, raided Dhulauri area and arrested the outlaws

Police seized the gun and bullets from their possession, the OC said, adding that the outlaws were wanted in several cases.

Away in Jhenidah, Police arrested a youth along with five crude bombs from Collegepara area in Kaliganj upazila of the district early yesterday.

The arrestee is Habibur Rahman, 32, son of Afsar Ali of Dadpur village in the upazila.
