Three JMB men held

The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive yesterday arrested three suspected militants of 'Sarwar-Tamim group' of Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.

The arrestees are Mohammad Jenarul Islam alias Moin, 25, son of Enamul Haque, and Mohammad Rasul Box, 50, son of Zillur Rahman, and Mohammad Islam, 70, of Shibganj upazila.

A team of Rab-5, raided a mango orchard at Balabona village around 4:00am when a group of the banned outfit was holding a secret meeting and detained the three, said Rab-5 Commander Squadron Leader Mohammad Sayeed Abdullah.

They also seized a pistol, one magazine, three bullets, 1.1 kilogram explosive substances and three books on jihad from their possession, the commander said.
