3 BCL leaders killed in B’baria road crash

Three Bangladesh Chhatra League leaders were killed and a party activist was injured when a motorcycle carrying the four lost control and hit a truck in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria yesetdray.

The deceased are Enamul Hoque Faysal, 19, BCL publicity secretary of Kuti union unit, Nurul Amin Hossain Bijoy, 21, general secretary of ward No. 5 of the union and Sajol Mia, 20, vice-president of ward No. 8 in Kaiumpur union of the upazila.

The accident took place in Shahpur area on Kasba-Kuti road around 7:00pm yesterday when the four were going to Kasba from Kuti area by the motorcycle, said Abdul Karim, assistant superintendent of police (Kasba circle).

Nurul Amin died on the spot while the three others were taken to Comilla Medical College Hospital where Faysal and Sajol died around 1:00am.

Injured BCL activist Chhuton Mia was undergoing treatment at the hospital till this afternoon when the report was filed.

Villagers seized the truck, but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene, said Officer-in-charge of Kasba Police Station Md Moniruzzaman.

The bodies were handed over to their families.
