Textbook quality next challenge: Nahid

The quality of the textbooks will be the next challenge of the government, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said today during the free textbook distribution among school students.

“It’s also a big challenge for us to ensure the standard of the education,” he said while inaugurating the National Textbook Festival at Azimpur Government Girl School and College in Dhaka.

More than four crore students of primary and secondary schools throughout the country got new textbooks on the first day of 2017 as customary to every year.

The government distributed over 36 crore copies of textbooks free of cost.

Almost 100 percent of 17.68 crore textbooks were distributed for secondary students and 95 percent of 10.52 crore textbooks for primary students in all upazilas of the country.
