Telecast of 3 Indian channels to continue in Bangladesh

Three Indian television channels -- Star Jalsha, Star Plus and Zee Bangla – can be telecast in Bangladesh as the Supreme Court today passed no order on an appeal seeking a stay on the High Court verdict that cleared the way to air the Indian channels.

Chamber judge of the Appellate Division Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain asked the writ petitioner to move a leave to appeal petition before the apex court after getting the full text of the HC verdict.

Writ petitioners lawyer advocate Ekhlas Uddin Bhuiyan told The Daily Star that there is no legal bar for the authorities concerned to continue running operation of three Indian channels in Bangladesh following the SC order.
