Teenage boy 'stabbed dead' in Ctg

A teenage boy was allegedly stabbed to death by miscreants in Jamal Khan area of Chittagong city today.

The deceased was identified as Adnan Ispar, 15, a ninth-grader of Chittagong Collegiate School and son of Engineer Adnan Aktarul Azam of Shahnagar area under Fatikchhari upazila, our Chittagong staff correspondent reports quoting police.

The boy was involved in politics of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at the school, said Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukdar of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH)’s Police Outpost.

The incident took place around 2:45pm this noon when a group of miscreants stabbed the boy from behind with sharp weapon in front of Chittagong Ideal School and College in the city's Chawkbazar area, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jasim Uddin of Kotwali Police Station told The Daily Star.

The boy ran for his life and collapsed in front of Dr Khastogir Government Girls’ High School in Jamal Khan area under Kotwali Police Station, the OC said.

He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) in critical condition where the doctors pronounced him dead, the police official added.

Dispute among friends or other reason might have led to the killing, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Jahangir Alam of Kotwali Circle told the Daily Star.  

Police were investigating the incident while CCTV footages of the area were being collected to find out the killers, AC Jahangir said.

The body was sent to CMCH morgue for autopsy, he added.
