Sylhet transport workers call indefinite strike from tomorrow

Transport workers today called an indefinite transport strike from tomorrow morning in Sylhet district to press home their five-point demand.

District Transport Workers' Union President Selim Ahmed Folik said they called the strike demanding the withdrawal of a case filed against some transport workers.

The case was filed by Sylhet District Sramik League president Ezazul Haque Ezaz following a clash on May 1, reports our Sylhet correspondent quoting Selim.

Folik said a group of fellows of Ezaz intentionally tried to stop the May Day rally organised by District Transport Workers' Union and then they filed the case accusing transport workers.

Other demands include stopping motorbikes used to transport passengers on Sylhet-Companiganj road.
