The government has banned mobile phones around the vicinity of SSC examination centres in the purview of an unstoppable spate of question paper leak.

“If anyone is found with a mobile at an exam centre or in around 200 metres, they will be arrested immediately,” an education ministry order obtained today read.

The strict action will be taken in order to hold the SSC examinations without a question paper leak and any such “rumour”, the ministry said in its order dated yesterday.

The ministry mandated examinees to enter the examinations halls 30 minutes before beginning of the exams. Otherwise, they will not be allowed in the exam centres, the order said.

The SSC and its equivalent examinations started throughout the country on February 1.
