SSC question leak: Teacher among 7 held in 4 dists

With the 7, total 10 held in 4 days

Law enforcers have detained seven persons including a teacher today in connection with Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations question leak in four districts.

With the seven, a total of 10 persons were so far held across the country for their alleged link to the question paper leak.

In Gazipur, police detained Amzad Hosen Nahin, headmaster of Alhajj Dhonai Byapari Memorial High School and assistant centre secretary of Mawna Bohumukhi High School exam centre in Sripur, on a charge of question leak during the SSC math exam today, said Mahmudul Hasan, sub-inspector of Sripur Police Station.

In Dinajpur, police arrested four men for allegedly selling leaked question paper of SSC exam in Chirirbandar upazila today, Haresul Islam, officer-in-charge of Chirirbandar Police Station, told our correspondent.

In Jessore, a home tutor was held for allegedly leaking SSC general maths exam questions from Jessore Zilla School gate this morning.

Police are investigating whether he is involved with question leak, said Abul Bashar, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Jessore Kotwali Police Station.

In Rajshahi, locals captured a woman suspecting her of possessing leaked question paper of SSC maths exam today and later handed her over to the police, reports our Rajshahi correspondent quoting Amanullah, officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station.

In Bogra, Earlier on February 7, a madrasa teacher named Omar Faruk was held in Bogra’s Sariakandi upazila with SSC English 2nd paper question while a mobile court was being conducted around the Sariakandi Government Boys High School premises.

Police found that Faruk was connected with six Facebook groups which are active in leaking out question papers, and based on information retrieved from the phone they arrested another English teacher, Md Asaduzzaman from Kutubpur Uttarpara village that night, said Assistant Commissioner (land) and Executive Magistrate Abdul Kader (Sariakandi Upazila).

In Madaripur, on the same day, one Md Zubaidul Islam, 24, was held from a Kuakata-bound Eagle Paribahan bus at Mostofapur bus stand in Madaripur Sadar upazila with a soft copy of the SSC English 2nd paper exam around 9:30 am, half an hour before the examination started.

Earlier on February 4, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid declared Tk 5 lakh bounty for helping to catch those involved in question papers leak.
