Son kills father

A man was stabbed to death by his son at Brahmanpara village in Bhanga upazila under the district on Monday.

The deceased, Akkas Sikder, 48, of the village, was an auto-rickshaw driver.

The alleged killer, Shah Alam Sikder, 20, is his son from his second wife, divorced five years ago, Md Miraz Hossain, OC of Bhanga Police Station, quoted locals as saying.

“Alam asked for some money from his father around 8:45pm on Monday. As Akkas refused, Alam stabbed him to death. Akkas's third wife Jesmin Begum filed a murder case with Bhanga Police Station,” he said.
