Slain Jahanara's kid killed too

Murderer's bid to hide evidence!

Police recovered the body of an eight-year-old boy, who was killed allegedly by his uncle for witnessing his mother's killing on Thursday night, from a ditch in Charfasion upazila of Bhola on Saturday.

The deceased, Abir Hossain, was son of Mahabubur Rahman and Jahanara Begum of Charmafzal village in the upazila.

Following confessional statement of Abir's uncle Ibrahim, 22, police recovered the body from the village on Saturday night, Officer-in-Charge of Charfasion Police Station Enamul Haque said.

According to Ibrahim's confession before a court the same afternoon, Mahabub with the help of his family members killed his wife Jahanara on Thursday night in a bid to implicate his uncle Milon Nakti in a false case.

At one stage of the murder, Mahabubur asked his brother Ibrahim to take his son Abir away from the spot so that he could not witness the murder.

As the boy was repeatedly crying for his mother and insisting that he would disclose the matter to his maternal grandfather, Ibrahim killed the boy by slitting his throat and threw the body in a nearby ditch.

Earlier, a murder case was filed with Charfasion Police Station against Mahabub, Ibrahim and their parents on Friday.
