Minister's visit at B'baria: Show cause notice against 2 BCL leaders

Bangladesh Chhatra League has issued ‘show cause’ notices to the president and secretary of its Brahmanbaria unit over yesterday’s chaos centering a minister’s visit to the district.

BCL central committee’s Office Secretary Delwar Shahjada confirmed it to The Daily Star today.

The authorities asked President Masum Billa and General Secretary Russel Miah to explain in 48 hours why they should not be expelled from the party.

The BCL central committee also suspended the functioning of its Brahmanbaria unit yesterday.

A police official was hurt when alleged BCL activists hurled stones targeting the motorcade of Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sayedul Haque amid stringent security in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria yesterday.
