Sheikh Hasina beacon of Bengali nation: Syed Ashraf

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Public Administration Minister Syed Ashraful Islam today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, is not only a resource of the AL, but the beacon of whole Bengali nation.

Except love, there is nothing that could be presented to her in response to her success, the minister said while addressing a joint meeting of the AL at the political office of party president Sheikh Hasina at Dhanmondi in the capital.

Central leaders of Awami League, presidents and general secretaries of its associate and likeminded bodies, Dhaka City south and north units and different thana units under their jurisdiction joined the meeting, among others.

The meeting was held as part of preparations to honour Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with a mass reception on her way to official residence Gano Bhaban from the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on September 26 on her return from the US after attending the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

He also said the premier has been working relentlessly to advance the country and this mass reception is only a tiny endeavor to thank her.
