Seven-day art camp begins in Rangamati

Labaid Foundation organised a seven-day-long art camp with eminent artists and young artists from around the country in Rangamati yesterday.

The programme was inaugurated at Rangamati Parjatan Corporation under the banner Prokritir Canvase Jiboner Rong and will run till July 20.

Eminent architect, poet and art critic Rabiul Hussain was special guest.

Eminent artists Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Monirul Islam and Abul Barak Alvi spoke at the programme. Saifur Rahman Lenin, cordinator of the art camp, delivered the welcome speech.

The Foundation started the art camp programme in 2009 and has held six camps, including this one, in different places till now.

The purpose is to get young and senior artistes together so that young artists can get guidance from the elders about various aspects of their paintings.

The paintings will be displayed and sold in a gallery in Dhaka. The proceeds will be used for treatment of poor patients.
