Schoolgirl takes own life

A schoolgirl allegedly committed suicide as she did not pass her annual examination at Kulaghat village in Sadar upazila yesterday.

The deceased was Amena Akhter, 13, daughter of Abdus Salam of the village, and a student of Class VI of Kulaghat High School.

Amena was mentally abnormal, said OC Udoy Kumar Mandol of Sadar Police Station and family members.

The body was sent to a hospital for autopsy.
