RU professor killing: Students block Dhaka-Rajshahi highway for 3hrs

Students of the Rajshahi University blocked the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway for three hours today demanding justice for Professor AFM Rezaul Karim Siddiquee.

Following the blockade, transport movement on the highway remained at halt till 1:00pm, reports our Rajshahi correspondent.

As part of their protest programme, the students also brought out a silent procession in the campus, said Shushanto Chandra Roy, assistant commissioner (AC) of Detective Branch, Rajshahi.

The agitated students have been continuing their agitation since the murder took place on Saturday, said Shushanto Chandra Roy, Assistant Commissioner (AC), Detective Branch (DB), Rajshahi.

Meanwhile, the teachers of the university returned to classes after boycotting classes and examinations for three days.

Prof Siddiquee of Rajshahi University was brutally murdered in the city's Shalbagan area on Saturday in an attack that police say bears the hallmark of the previous blogger killings.
