Police today detained a leader of Rajshahi University unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) after he allegedly misbehaved with law enforcers.

The detainee, Kazi Lingkon, is the BCL sports secretary of the RU unit, reports our correspondent quoting Humayan Kabir, officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station.

Lingkon was detained on charges of misbehaving with the law enforcers and barring them from discharging their duties, the OC added.

Lingkon was dating his girlfriend near the mass graveyard of the university. At one point, they locked into a serious quarrel that turned into a scuffle, he added.

Noticing the unpleasant incident, on duty police members rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control, he said, adding that the policemen were forced to detain the BCL leader as he misbehaved with them.

The BCL leader is now under police custody and legal action will be taken against him after interrogation, the OC said.
