Rohingya stabbed to death at camp

A Rohingya man was stabbed to death allegedly by another Rohingya man at Kutupalong under Ukhia upazila of the district yesterday.

The victim was Momtaz Ahmed, 35, son of Abul Kasem.

The killing occurred at Block 3/B of No 3 Rohingya camp at Kutupalong Madhurchhara yesterday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station Md Abul Khair said Momtaz killed a brother of Arif Ullah at Buchidong in Rakhine state of Myanmar two years ago.

Arif Ullah came to Bangladesh to find his brother's killer. He found Momtaz at the camp yesterday and stabbed him.

Momtaz died on way to the health centre.

The OC said a murder case has been filed against Arif Ullah and he was produced before a court that sent him to jail.
