Eden college student dies falling off human hauler in Shonir Akhra

A student of Eden Women’s College today died after falling from a human hauler, locally known as Leguna, in Shonir Akhra area of Dhaka.

Deceased Nusrat Jahan Jhuma was a first year honours student of Mathematics at the college, Officer-in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station Azizur Rahman told The Daily Star.

The accident occurred at noon when the human hauler carrying Jhuma bumped into a speed breaker in Shonir Akhra area, the official said.

She fell on the road and received injuries to her head, he added.

Meanwhile, people present at the spot contacted Jhuma’s elder sister Jebunnesa, who rushed to the local hospital where she was admitted first. Later, Jhuma was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead. 

She is the daughter of Abul Hossen, who was a Union Parishad chairman from Muradnagar Upazila of Comilla.
