'Rise High Bangladesh' at RUET

The students of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) looked on curiously at the events going on in their campus on August 24. When volunteers explained to them that they were there for the export idea contest 'Rise High Bangladesh, initiated by The Daily Star and Crown Cement, they eagerly participated in the competitions that aimed to motivate youth to generate export ideas.

The event in the RUET campus started from 10 am near the Administration Building and went on till 5 pm. The programme area was nicely decorated with banners and posters containing information of the contest. There was a huge gathering of students from different departments. The Rise High Volunteers helped the students by explaining the objectives, incentives and rules of participation..

The premise was crowded with students all day long. While some of them listened attentively to the details of the initiative, some participated in fun games for which they were awarded on spot.  One of the games required students to pick a clue card with information on a country's imported goods, and they had to guess the country.

After winning the game, Maruf Ar Rusafi, a student of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) Department said, "It's really a great and admirable initiative and I have already thought of some ideas for the export idea contest. This programme has motivated me to submit my idea to this contest."
