Rescue abducted Hindu boy

Demands human chain

People of Hindu community at a human chain in the town yesterday demanded immediate rescue of schoolboy Dev Dutt who was abducted on Saturday. 

Under the banner of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad, the human chain was formed in front of Gopinath temple in the town.

The speakers at the programme criticised the law enforcers for their failure to rescue the boy till yesterday.

Dev Dutt, 9, son of Pabitra Dutt of Chitholia village in Mirpur upazila, was abducted for Tk 50 lakh ransom. He is a student of Class III at Chitholia Government Primary School.

The victim's father Pabitra is an assistant teacher of Boria High School in Kushtia Sadar upazila, and joint secretary of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad's Mirpur upazila unit.

Public Prosecutor of Kushtia District and Sessions Judge's Court Anup Kumar Nandi, businessmen Ajoy Sureka and Tuhin Kumar Chaki spoke at the programme.
