Her 'lover' had spread their intimate photos in social media
A girl student of a medical assistant training school committed suicide on Saturday, failing to bear with the humiliation by a 'lover' who spread photographs of their intimate relation through the social media.
The victim Asrafi Zaman Mim, 18, daughter of Julfikar Zaman of Mridhapara village in Pabna's Faridpur upazila, and a first year student of Trauma Medical Assistant Training School in the capital, hanged herself at her village home.
Victim's father filed a case with Faridpur Police Station, accusing Ashikuzzaman Ashik, 22, the cheat lover, his father Masud Uz Zaman and mother Tina Zaman of Savar village in the upazila, on charge of provoking his daughter's suicide.
“Ashik, a student of aeronautical engineering at a private university, became intimate with my daughter in Dhaka. He violated her on March 14 and spread out their intimate photographs through social media,” said Julfikar Zaman, father of the victim.
“After knowing the matter, I repeatedly requested Ashik's family to arrange marriage between him and my daughter but they refused. Ashik threatened my daughter to spread more photographs through the social media.”
“Being cheated and humiliated, my daughter hanged herself in her room on Saturday, leaving a note, 'Ashik is responsible for my death',” Julfikar said.
Police sent the body to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy on the day. Accused Ashik and his parents fled after the incident. Investigation is on and police is trying to arrest the culprits,” said Md Emran Hossain, officer in charge of the police station.
