Rakib murder: 3 accused charged

Police today pressed charges against three of the accused in the 13-year-old boy Rakib killing case, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports.

Kazi Mostaque Ahmed, a sub-inspector of Khulna Sadar Police Station, submitted the charge sheet before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Faruk Iqbal in Khulna, the daily reported.     

The accused are: Omar Sharif, Mintu Khan and Beauty Begum.

Thirteen-year old Rakib, who used to work at a motorcycle garage at Tutpara Central Road in Khulna city, was tortured, eventually leading to his death.

The three accused allegedly pumped air into his body through his rectum because of quitting job at Sharif’s garage.

Enraged locals caught Rakib’s former employer Sharif, his mother Beauty and Mintu after the incident and handed them over to police.
