Python, 35 wild birds rescued in Gazipur

A python, 25 Munias and 10 Parakeets including Alexandrian and Rose Ringed Parakeets were rescued during a raid in a weekly bird market at Tongi in Gazipur.

As per Bangladesh Wildlife (Protection and Safety) Act 2012, trapping, selling, buying, consuming or caging wild birds is a punishable offence.

A mobile team of Wildlife Division made the rescue while conducting a drive there, said Wildlife Inspector Asim Mallick of Dhaka Forest Department.
