Punishment is transfer!

The headmaster of a government primary school in the district was transferred to another school on attachment on Wednesday on charge of sexually harassing a fifth grader.

District Primary Education Officer AKM Amirul Islam said he transferred Narayan Chandra Karmakar of Shankar Gobinda Government Primary School to Fulsor Government Primary School.

The girl on February 27 alleged that Narayan touched her inappropriately with an excuse of beating her for making a mistake while solving a mathematical problem. The girl stopped going to school since then.

Victim's father lodged an allegation with the district administration on March 4, requesting action against the teacher.

Later, the deputy commissioner asked Sadar upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) on March 27 to investigate the matter. The UNO found the allegation against the teacher true and submitted a report in this regard to the DC.

Amirul said they sent the probe report to the deputy director of primary education office in Rajshahi on Tuesday and he asked me to send the teacher on attachment temporarily.
