Protest against attack on BCL leader

Bangladesh Chhattra League (BCL) staged a demonstration at the upazila headquarters yesterday, protesting the attack on a BCL leader.

Later, speakers at a rally at Bangabandhu Square urged the police and local administration to arrest the attackers immediately. Phulbaria Upazila unit of BCL organised the rally.

Upazila BCL President Rafiqul Islam Rakib, Mozammel Haque, Asaduzzaman Asad and Sohel Rana spoke at the rally.

Sarwar, 22, is a student of Phulbaria Degree College and general secretary of Phulbaria upazila BCL.

Police said a gang of miscreants hacked Sarwar at upazila headquarters, leaving him critically injured.

Sarwar is undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
