Prime accused lands in jail

The prime accused in the case for killing diploma engineer Al-Amin in 2017 was sent to jail after he surrendered before it yesterday.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Nazmul Haque rejected the bail prayer of the accused -- Mafiqul Islam, 25, son of Hanif Uddin of Binanderpara village in Sadar upazila, and sent him to jail around 2:00pm, said Court Inspector Abdul Kader. 

According to the case statement, Mafiqul locked in an altercation with Al-Amin while playing cricket at a local ground on June 28, 2017. At one stage, Mafiqul along with four other youths beat Al Amin with cricket stumps, leaving him dead on the spot.
