The primary and ebtedai terminal examinations scheduled for tomorrow will be held on November 30.

The primary and mass education ministry postponed tomorrow’s exams after Jamaat-e-Islami called a daylong hartal across the country following the execution of its general secretary Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed early today for his wartime crimes.

Rabindranath Roy, public relations officer of the ministry, however told The Daily Star that the ministry took the decision due to “unavoidable reason”.

The terminal exams for class-V students began this morning across the country with over 32 lakh examinees taking part in the tests.

The tests, dubbed as the largest public examination in the country, were scheduled to be ended on November 29 but now it will be concluded on November 30.

Of the total examinees, over 29.49 lakh students of primary schools will take the primary terminal test, while around 3 lakh students of madrasas will sit for the ebtedai exam.
