President, PM exchange Eid greetings

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina exchanged greetings separately with people from different walks of life in Dhaka today on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina exchanged greetings with people from different walks of life, party leaders and workers, judges and foreign diplomats at her official residence Gono Bhaban.

The President wished all a happy and prosperous Eid-ul-Azha.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha attended the reception.

Judges of the Supreme Court, members of parliament, chiefs of the three services, editors, secretaries, vice chancellors of different universities, educationists, recipients of national awards, senior journalists, writers, poets, litterateurs, representatives of business community, religious personalities, artistes, high civil and military officials joined the reception.

Ambassadors and high commissioners of different countries in Bangladesh and chiefs of international agencies also attended the reception.

President Abdul Hamid welcomed the guests, exchanged Eid greetings with them and wished them a prosperous life.

Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League chief, first exchanged Eid greetings with cross section of people, professionals, party leaders and workers.

Later talking to the press, the prime minister greeted the countrymen and all Bangladesh people living abroad on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, wishing them a happy and prosperous life.

She also prayed for peace, prosperity of the country as well as the Muslim Ummah.

The premier also exchanged greetings with judges and foreign diplomats at the same venue.
