President hosts Iftar for PM, eminent citizens

President Abdul Hamid on Thursday hosted an Iftar party in the honor of the prime minister, judges, cabinet members, MPs, diplomats, eminent citizens and high civil and military officials at Bangabhaban.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, former President HM Ershad and opposition leader Raushan Ershad attended the Iftar party held at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban.

President's wife Rashida Khanom and family members also joined the iftar.

On her arrival at Bangabhaban, the prime minister was received by the president.

Cabinet members, speaker, deputy speaker, advisors to the prime minister, diplomats, Chief Election Commissioner, judges of the Supreme Court, chiefs of three services, MPs , vice chancellors of public universities, lawyers, political leaders, business leaders, editors and senior journalists and high military and civil officials also attended the iftar party.

The president exchanged pleasantries with the guests and enquired about their well-being.

Before the iftar, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the nation.

Pesh Imam of Bangabhaban Jame Mosque Moulana Saiful Kabir conducted the munajat.
