PM Sheikh Hasina to visit Santiniketan May 25

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will undertake a two-day official visit to West Bengal from May 25 to inaugurate the Bangladesh Bhawan in Viswa Bharati University and receive an honorary doctorate degree from Kazi Nazrul University in Asansol of India.

Hasina will fly to Kolkata on the morning of May 25 and then travel to Viswa Bharati University, including Santiniketan, and will open the Bangladesh Bhawan along with Indian PM Narendra Modi, reports our New Delhi correspondent.

Both will be present at the convocation of the Viswa Bharati University on the same day, our New Delhi correspondent reports quoting an official handling the visit of the Bangladesh PM.

From there, she will return to Kolkata and spend the night there before going to Asansol on the morning of May 26 to be present at the Nazrul University, the official said adding Hasina will return to Dhaka in the afternoon of the same day.

The adjustment in the dates of Hasina’s visit were finalised on Saturday after discussion between officials of India and Bangladesh, according to the official.
