PM leaves for London en route to Dhaka

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left today for London en route to Dhaka wrapping up her three-day bilateral official visit to Sweden at the invitation of her Swedish counterpart Stefan Lofven.

A British Airways flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage departed Arlanda Airport for London at 1:30 pm (local time).

Bangladesh Ambassador to Sweden Md Golam Sarwar saw the Prime Minister off at the airport.

The flight is scheduled to reach Heathrow International Airport in London at 3:15 pm (local time).

After making a three-hour stopover in the British capital, the Prime Minister will depart for home and reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Saturday at 11:05 am (local time).

This was the first-ever bilateral official visit by any head of government or state of Bangladesh to Sweden.

During the visit, Hasina held the official talks with Stefan Lofven at the Prime Minister's Office here.

Before the talks, the two leaders had a tete-a-tete at the same venue.

Sheikh Hasina joined a lunch hosted in her honour by the Swedish premier.

The Prime Minister had an audience with Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf at the Audience Room of the Royal Palace.

She visited Swedish Parliament and held a meeting with acting Speaker Tobias Billstrom.

Swedish Deputy Prime Minister Isabella Lovin and Minister for Justice and Migration Morgan Johansson met the Prime Minister at the Deputy Prime Minister's Office and at Grand Hotel respectively.

Sheikh Hasina also joined the Bangladesh-Sweden Business and Investment Forum and attended a community reception.

CEO of H&M Karl-Johan Persson and President of Investor Jacob Wallenberg, Vice-President of Investor Marcus Wallenberg and CEO of ABB Sweden Johan Soderstrom also met her.
