Physician missing for a week in Mymensingh

A physician of Physiology Department at Community Based Medical College Bangladesh (CBMCB) in Mymensingh Sadar upazila has been missing for the last seven days.

Dr Ali Al Rasul Atiq, 38, father of two children, went out of his house at Horikishore Roy Road in the town on October 17 and did not return, police said, quoting his family members.

Atiq's mother Zobeda Nahar filed a general diary (GD) with Kotwali Police Station on October 19 and also informed the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Mymensingh.

Dr Atiq, youngest among five siblings, completed his MBBS from CBMCB and joined the hospital as a lecturer about 10 years ago.

Prof Dr Mirza Manjurul Haque, principal of the medical college, said Atiq was absent for a week from his workplace before going missing on Tuesday.
