Patient, relatives robbed

Muggers robbed a family carrying a patient in an ambulance at Bondbil in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district on Monday. Abu Bakar Siddiki, a relative of the patient, said seven muggers brandishing sharp weapons stopped their ambulance on Kushtia-Chuadanga highway while they were returning home to Chuadanga district town from Rajshahi Medical College Hospital at around 2:30am.  Six people, including the patient Humayra Khatun, 45, were in the ambulance. The robbers looted Tk 15,000, 5 mobile phone sets, a bag of clothes and even Humayra's gold ornaments.  Atiar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Alamdanga Police Station, confirmed the matter.
