Pabna Jubo League leader hacked to death

A union-level Jubo League leader was hacked to death and two others injured in an alleged rival group attack in Pabna’s Pakshi area last night. 

The deceased was Md Sajahan Ali, 42, son of late Mohammed Ali, is the vice president of Jubo League unit no. 6 of Pakshey, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting police.

The injured ward AL President Ashraful Islam, 45, and his fellow Abul Hossain, 35, are undergoing treatment at the upazila health complex.

The criminals hacked Sajahan Ali in Pakshey area when he was going to his home around 11:00pm, said Abdul Hai, officer-in-charge of Ishwardi Police Station.

“When the fellow party men, Ashraful and Abul Hossain, rushed there to save Sajahan, the attackers also attacked them,” he said.

The injured were taken to Ishwardi Health Complex where Sajahan turned critical, said the OC adding that Sahjahan died on way to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Additional police forces were deployed in and around the area as a tense situation was prevailing there, the OC added.
