One gets life for murder

A Jessore court sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for killing Yanur Rahman of Uttar Kagojpukur village under Benapole Port Police Station in 2006.

The lifer is M Ibrahim, son of late Yusuf Munshi of the village, Public Prosecutor (PP) SM Badruzzaman Palash said on Tuesday.

Special Judge Nitai Chandra Saha also fined Ibrahim Tk 20 thousand.

According to the prosecution, Ibrahim killed Yanur with a sharp weapon following an altercation on May 15 in 2006. 

Later, a case was filed in connection with the incident, said the PP.
