NTRCA registration test: Govt asked to prepare merit list of candidates

HC directs govt

The High Court today directed the government to prepare a merit list of the candidates who have passed the registration test for appointment as teachers to private schools and colleges.

Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) has to make the merit list in 90 days after receiving the HC directive.

The court also ordered the NTRCA to give certificates to the candidates after it prepares the list and ruled that their certificates will remain in force until they are appointed as teachers.

The bench of Justice Quazi Reza-UlHoque and Justice Mohammad Ullah came up with the verdict after hearing few hundred writ petitions filed by several thousands of candidates seeking necessary orders on the NTRCA to prepare a list for their appointments as teachers.

Earlier in July this year, the NTRCA submitted a report to the HC saying that a total of 22,567 posts of teachers of private institutions have been lying vacant across the country.
