Youth killed over trivial matter

A youth was killed allegedly by his neighbours over a trivial matter at Kazipara village in Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Rubel Hossain, 30, son Abul Kashem of the village.

Quoting locals, Officer in Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Ziaur Rahman said Rubel, who used to park his tractor in front of his house every night, had an altercation with his neighbours -- Amirul, Ziarul, Tasikul and Mizan -- at a tea stall over the parking issue.

At one stage, they stabbed Rubel with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.

He later died on his way to Sadar Hospital the same night.
