Youth held for blackmail

Police on Tuesday arrested a youth on charge of attempted blackmail of a woman with photos taken in mobile.

Biplob Khan, 37, of Daulatpur upazila was arrested after a woman filed a case under Digital Security Act, said Daulatpur Police Station OC Sunil Karmakar.

“The woman's husband works in Saudi Arabia. They are family friends with Biplob who took photos with her on mobile. Biplob gave illicit proposal to her, threatening to show the photos to her husband," the OC said, referring to the case statement.
