This year’s hajj management better than past

This year’s hajj management across the country is much better than previous years, Religious Affairs Secretary Anisur Rahman said today.

“No aspirants had to miss hajj due to corruption or mismanagement this year. It has happened for the first time in Bangladesh,” the secretary said while talking to The Daily Star from the Ashkona hajj camp.

As of 3:00pm today, 1,25,269 hajj pilgrims left Bangladesh through Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Arabian Airlines for this year’s hajj. Another 2,017 pilgrims will leave for hajj till the last hajj flight at 5:40am tomorrow, the religious affairs secretary further said.

A total of 1, 27,286 pilgrims will perform hajj from Bangladesh this year.
