Worker dies after falling from under-construction mosque in Old Dhaka

A worker died after falling from an under-construction mosque in Old Dhaka's Islambagh area this noon.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Billu, 35, a resident of Kamrangirchar area.

His co-worker Jamal Hossain said that Billu was doing construction work on the mosque's first floor along with other workers. He fell from the rooftop of the one-storey mosque around 11:00am and sustained critical injuries.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 12:00pm, he said.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
