Woman, son-in-law held with yaba in Brahmanbaria

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested a woman and her son-in-law with yaba and phensidyl from Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria last night.

The arrestees are Rafia Khatun, 40, wife of Ohid Mia in Habiganj’s Madhabpur and her son-in-law Rafiq Mia, 27, son of late Lal Mia of the same area.

Tipped off, a team of Rab-14, led by its company commander Rafiuddin Mohammad Jubair, arrested them while they were selling illegal drugs at Nidarabad village around 9:00pm, said a press release issued by the Rab-14.

The Rab members also seized 81 bottles of phensidyl, 16 yaba tablets and TK 1,25,300 in cash from their possession, said the release.

A case was filed against the detainees with Bijoynagar Police Station, Chandan Debnath, senior assistant director of the Rab-14, told our Brahmanbaria correspondent.
