Woman raped in Bogura

A 27-year-old woman was allegedly raped in Bogura's Sherpur upazila last night.

The victim filed a rape case against one Saiful Islam (45) of Mohipur Natunpara village, with Sherpur Police Station this afternoon, said Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station.

According to the case statement, Saiful recently came to visit his relatives, who are neighbours of the victim. On Friday night, he raped the woman when she went to a common toilet in the house, the case statement said.

The victim would be sent to hospital for medical test tomorrow, the OC said, adding that the law enforcers were trying to arrest the accused.
