Woman killed over land dispute

A woman was killed in a clash over a land dispute  at Mridha Kandi village in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur yesterday.

The deceased was Sorbo Begum, 55, wife of Alem Mridha of the village.

As a sequel to a land dispute, the men of Alem and Jalil Mridha locked in a clash with lethal weapons yesterday morning, leaving Sorbo critically injured.

She was rushed to the upazila health complex where she was  declared dead.

Shibchar Police Station OC Zakir Hossain Mollah said police later brought the situation under control.
