Woman killed by husband

Police recovered the body of a woman, strangled allegedly by her husband, at Mondalpara in Kaliakoir municipality area.

The deceased, Zulekha Begum, was wife of Elim Uddin, a construction mechanic.

Hailing from Gopalpur upazila in Tangail, she lived with her husband at a rented room at Mondalpara.

“Zulekha, a garments worker, returned home from work at 10:00pm on Thursday. The room remained locked the whole day on Friday. In the evening locals saw Zulekha's body on the floor inside the room and informed police,” said Jamal Uddin, sub inspector of Kaliakoir Police Station.
