Woman killed in Habiganj clash

A woman was killed and 25 others were injured in a clash between two rival groups over a disputed land at Katkhal village in Habiganj's Baniachang upazila on Saturday.

The decreased was Minara Khatun, 35, wife of Abdul Rakib of the village.

Police and locals said there was a longstanding conflict between Kachum Ali and Abdus Shahid over the land.

As a sequel to the conflict, the men of the two rivals attacked each other with lethal weapons, leaving Minara dead on the spot and 25 from both sides injured.

Additional police personnel have been deployed in the area to avert further trouble.
