A woman was gang-raped in Boda upazila in Panchagarh district after she went there to shoot a music video.

Police have arrested two persons -- the prime accused and a female Jubo League leader in the upazila -- in a case filed in this connection, reports our correspondent from Thakurgaon.

The 28-year-old victim managed to escape from the perpetrators and took shelter at Boda Police Station last night, where she later filed the case accusing three named and 12 unnamed persons, said Abu Sayem Mia, inspector (investigation) of the police station.

The arrestees were sent to jail after they were produced before Assistant Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajibul Hasan's court this afternoon.

The same court also recorded the victim's statement this afternoon, Court Inspector Aminul Islam said.

The victim, hailing from Pabna's Bhangura and a resident of Gazipur, came to Boda on July 14 after she was proposed a role in a music video by one Sazzad Hossain Milon of Boda municipality, Inspector Sayem, also investigation officer of the case, said citing the case statement.

The victim said in the statement that she came to know Sazzad five years ago when he introduced himself as chief news editor and graphic designer of online TV Channel 'Bangla TV', he said.

She alleged that Sazzad first took her to a house in Thanapara area of Boda municipality, owned by upazila unit Jubo League's General Secretary Abida Sultana Lucky, and raped her that night along with four or five other persons.

She was taken to another house at Bhasainagar area in the same municipality and gang-raped again, before she managed to escape on Wednesday night, the police official also said.

Police conducted drive on the same night and arrested Abida Sultana (45) and Sazzad Hossain Milon (33) in the case, the IO added.
