Woman dies from ‘wrong treatment’

A 35-year-old woman died allegedly due to for wrong treatment at a private clinic in Dinajpur town yesterday.

Victim’s family members alleged that, the deceased, Beauty Ara, wife of Abdul Mannan of Uttar Bangshipur village in Sadar upazila, died at HK Mother Care Hospital, hours after she had a caesarean operation yesterday morning.

Deceased’s elder sister Fatema Begum said Beauty, who was admitted to the private clinic early yesterday, gave birth to a baby boy through a caesarean operation around 8:00am.

Beauty’s condition started deteriorating soon after she was given an injection around 11:30am and she died around 12:30pm, Fatema alleged.

Hearing the death news, victim’s family members and relatives went on a rampage at the hospital compound.

Being informed, police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.

Dr Hazrat Ali, owner of the clinic, declined to make any comments in this regard.

Contacted, Dinajpur Civil Surgeon Abdul Kuddus said the hospital has been running its operation without renewing its license.
