Two found murdered in Netrakona

Police recovered the bodies of two men from Kalmakanda and Durgapur upazilas in Netrakona yesterday noon.

On information, police recovered the body of Shafiqul Islam, 33, son of late Mirash Uddin of Dakkhin Kulunja village in Durgapur, from a paddy field at Kakorgara village in the upazila around 1:00pm yesterday, said Md Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Durgapur Police Station.

Shafiqul used to drive motor-bike on rental basis. 

The body bore injury marks in the abdomen and he was possibly killed by criminals early yesterday, he OC said.

Police also recovered the decomposed body of an unidentified man, aged about 35, from Bamoni area beside Kalmakanda-Netrakona road in Kalmakanda around 12:30pm yesterday.

The body bore marks of injury on the throat, said Md Mazharul Karim, officer-in-charge of Kalmakanda Police Station.

Miscreants might have killed the man two or three days ago and left the body in the area, said the OC.

An unnatural death case was lodged.

The two bodies were sent to Netrakona Sadar Hospital for autopsy, police said.
