Cops suspect the victims are Rohingyas

The bodies of two youths were recovered from the Naf river in Teknaf upazila under the district yesterday.

Locals saw the bodies floating near North Jetty at Jaliar Dwip of Hnila union around noon and informed Teknaf Police Station.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Teknaf Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ranjit Kumar Barua said the youths were aged about 18 to 20 years.

“There were no injury marks on the bodies. They were wearing pants and T-shirts. From their faces, it is primarily assumed that they are Rohingyas coming from Myanmar,” the OC said.
